Service description
Our client is addressing one of its biggest challenges: powering the decade of electrification. The energy transition and massive electrification will accelerate significantly in the coming months and years. As part of its role as market facilitator, our client is actively developing Consumer Centric Energy Solutions.
The growing integration of renewable energy sources and the surge in electrification demand a shift in consumption behavior: demand must adapt to production availability. A key solution to this challenge is to provide consumers with the necessary data to drive informed decisions.
Within the Consumer Centricity department, a new product line has been established to ensure transparent, robust, secure, and future-proof data exchange ecosystems. These systems aim to share energy data with well-defined access rights, positioning our client as a trusted partner for energy data exchange and market communication processes across the energy sector.
This product line is called IDEA – Integrated Data Everywhere Anytime.
Operating cross-country between Belgium and Germany, IDEA comprises three main products:
- Batch Metering Data
- Batch Non-Metering Data
- Added Value Data Services
The primary mission of IDEA for the coming year is to ensure the availability of metering, contracting, asset, and commercial data for customers. This involves delivering harmonized, secure, and robust permission services, ensuring consistent dashboards and data export/download capabilities, and evolving existing authorization services to meet diverse customer needs.
Role description
Our client is currently seeking a Product Owner for the Metering Product, which enables internal and external users to access metering and customer data through machine-to-machine communication. This product ensures compliance with legal obligations while fulfilling client needs in a fast, secure, and reliable manner.
As Product Owner, you are responsible for delivering a product that meets customer and end-user needs, translating the program vision into user stories, and prioritizing the product backlog. This role is critical to ensuring quality assurance and streamlining execution.
You will report directly to the Product Lead (Leader of the Product Line).
Key responsibilities
- Develop and communicate the product vision and strategy, aligning it with customer needs and company goals.
- Build and prioritize the product backlog in collaboration with the scrum team.
- Continuously optimize the product backlog to maximize value and efficiency.
- Accept sprint deliverables, adjust the backlog based on feedback, and ensure alignment with stakeholders.
- Drive sprint and release planning alongside the Scrum Master.
- Resolve team impediments as needed to ensure progress.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, effectively communicating the product vision, strategy, and performance.
- Ensure adherence to agile processes to deliver maximum business value on time.
- Participate in retrospectives to improve team performance and processes.
- Ensure product testing and documentation are thorough and meet quality standards.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for enhancements across products and processes.
Profile
- You have proven knowledge in data products, and customer/user journeys
- You have experience in Agile Development, with specific Product Owner (or similar) experience
- Good level of Dutch and/or French and English is required.
- You are a strong communicator with the ability to communicate complex messages to diverse stakeholders and trade-offs and tell a compelling story
- Understanding of the energy sector, of industry trends, user demands and pain points are a strong plus
- You feel comfortable with (modern) technology to be able to engage in discussion with technology team to understand opportunities and risks
- Able to coach team on Agile practices and ensure adherence to Agile methodology to deliver max business value on time
- Your leadership qualitied enable you to take fast and difficult product decisions
- Ability to persuade and lead a team of diverse skillsets
- Critical thinker who is passionate to challenge status quo to find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas – you love and embrace change & innovation
