Context
Our client is a leading player in the European savings and retirement services industry. They focus on growing their business through acquisitions, portfolio transfers, or reinsurance from other insurers, while delivering strong, long-term returns to their customers.
Their primary insurance operations are spread across several European countries, including Belgium, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands, along with reinsurance activities based in Ireland and Bermuda.
As of December 31, 2023, the group managed €73.3 billion in assets, served around 2.8 million customers, and employed approximately 1,500 people across Belgium, Bermuda, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, and the UK.
Purpose of this role
- Collaborate in relevant data analysis and mapping activities as part of the migration of the client’s portfolio to the target systems.
- The candidate will work closely with the data mapping team to support the overall data migration process, ensuring careful attention is given to documentation and implementation.
Key contribution area
- Map both structured and unstructured data from current systems to target systems.
- Analyze the quality of existing data.
- Develop mitigation plans to prevent any data quality regression during the migration process.
- Demonstrate excellent documentation and writing skills.
- Help define and implement performance and quality metrics, ensuring compliance with data-related policies, standards, roles, responsibilities, and adoption requirements.
- Provide regular progress reports to the data migration project manager.
- Ensure the project adheres to architecture and data principles, as well as compliance with SDLC/PMO guidelines and the company’s risk and compliance framework.
- Build strong working relationships with business partners and teams across the group to foster collaboration and smooth communication.

Functional & technical skills required
- MUST HAVE: 5+ years experience in Life Insurance
- MUST HAVE: A Minimum of 3 years working as a Data Analist/Business Analyst
- MUST HAVE: SQL querying, AWS environment
- Prior experience working in data migration projects
- Good communicator and fluent in English, French & Dutch
- Experience in working with offshore teams
- Based in Belgium.
- Ability to deliver to tight deadlines
- Ability to interpret and present information and data in a practical format and articulate to all levels
- Excellent time management to ensure deadlines are met and critical projects are prioritised
- Flexibility to cater with changing work and time demands
- Excellent MS Office skills
