Context
Our client is hiring a skilled Data Engineer/Data Scientist to lead the IT development of a new risk engine as part of the Quality Risk Management program. This position involves designing, refining, and expanding our risk calculation capabilities, integrating data from multiple sources, and ensuring the engine meets the demands for the first delivery in Q1 of 2025.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of the risk pilot engine under the QRM program.
- Continue the development of algorithms for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading using SQL and Python.
- Adjust the Python code, SQL databases, and Databricks platforms to enhance engine performance.
- Integrate new data sources into the ingestion module from existing and future Databricks environments.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to ensure effective integration and operation of the engine.
- Maintain the engine post-launch, troubleshoot issues, and support new releases.
- Support the development of an additional risk engine depending on the evolution of the program.
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or Data Scientist, with a focus on data integration and risk analysis (Preferably in the energy sector)
- Proven expertise in Python, and common libraries
- Strong proficiency in SQL and familiarity with common database technologies
- Experience with Databricks and Azure cloud services
- Experience with Jira to follow up on progress
- Experience of PowerBI to build dashboards
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to manage projects, and adept at handling stakeholder requirements
- Good knowledge of the energy sector and/or maintenance its specific processes and cultural mindset is a plus
- Dutch or French native and very good knowledge of English
- Experience with machine learning frameworks is a plus
