Data Gouvernance Expert

Our client has moved into a Scaled Agile way of working. Following this transformation, several tribes and Centers of Excellence (CoE) have been created, among which the Data Governance CoE. The CoE belongs to the data office (lead by the CDO).

Within this tribe, the Enterprise Data Model (EDM) squad is responsible to support, promote and govern the EDM practice throughout the organization, and to assure quality and correct usage of the EDM by and for our prioritized use cases (= Design of API’s and Kafka topics).

Within this EDM squad,  BNPPF is looking for a Data Modeller to ensure functional support on the creation of the EDM in line with guidelines, and the design of API’s and Kafka messages.

Function description

• You will work closely with local stakeholders (IT architects and dev engineers) to understand the business logics with respect to data within their initiatives
• You will support these stakeholders throughout the organization to design and document their conceptual / logical data models in line with the central EDM guidelines and tooling setup, on a daily basis
• You will support tribe architects and squads in making their data models and API’s in line with EDM and GDPR expectations
• Your main modelling tool will be SAP PowerDesigner
• You will support monitoring the progress and quality of the data modelling practice and its usage
• You promote the culture of data modelling and data governance throughout the organization (importance of tooling, modelling practice, modelling guidelines… to both business and IT profiles)
• When needed, you onboard new data modellers across the organization
• You will develop and maintain data model guidelines for squads within the organization
• You will facilitate workshops to develop and document data models on a use case basis (e.g. customer journeys, problem statements…), in collaboration with local squads

Requirements

Mandatory

• Knowledge of English
• Knowledge of Dutch OR French to interact with stakeholders
• Bachelor/Master ‘s degree in IT or Business engineering or equivalent by professional experience
• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of Agile Methodology and Project Management
• Good understanding of / experience with top-down and bottom-up data modelling (conceptual, logical and physical models…) with several languages (UML, ERD…)
• A solid understanding of the functionalities of a modelling tool 
• Good understanding of the different aspects of data governance (metadata management, data quality, data lineage and traceability, GDPR, BCBS239, data dictionaries etc.)
• Understanding of working with industry models (e.g. ISO20022)
• Understanding of the data management functionalities and tooling landscape is a plus
• The ability to train people, develop modelling guidelines and management supportive deliverables

Preferable

• A solid understanding of the functionalities of SAP PowerDesigner Modelling tool
• Experience with API design
• Experience with Data Architecture
• Experience with software development & database design
