Context

Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Data Governance Manager to join their Center of Excellence (CoE) in Data Governance. This CoE plays a pivotal role in ensuring data integrity, compliance, and quality across the organization through four primary areas of focus: Enterprise Data Modeling, Data Regulatory and Privacy Compliance, Data Governance Tools, and Data Quality Management.

As a Data Governance Manager, you will guide one of these critical streams and drive our client’s data strategy, contributing to enhanced data quality and compliance across business and functional areas.

Function description

  • Define Stream Mission and Strategy: Establish the objectives and strategic direction for the specific data governance stream under your responsibility.
  • Lead a Team: Manage a team of data governance experts and/or data quality analysts to meet stream objectives and maintain high standards of data quality and compliance.
  • Coordinate Across CoE: Collaborate with other CoE managers and Senior Management to oversee organization-wide data governance, quality, and regulatory activities.
  • Implement and Enforce Data Frameworks: Develop and enforce frameworks for data governance, quality, and regulatory compliance across all organizational levels to ensure data integrity and protection.
  • Serve as an Escalation Point: Act as the primary point of contact for issues related to data governance, quality, integrity, protection, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with Business and Functional area leaders to maximize the quality and value of core data assets.

Profile

  • Language: Fluent in Dutch, English & French
  • Qualifications:
    • Education: Master’s degree (or higher, PhD preferred) in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, or engineering; candidates with strong analytical backgrounds from other disciplines are also encouraged to apply.
    • Experience: Minimum of 6 years in relevant data governance roles
    • Business Knowledge: Experience with Data Regulatory and Privacy Compliance is essential
