Description
Our client is responding to major shifts in the energy sector—such as the integration of renewable and decentralized energy sources, the emergence of new market players, and the rise of technologies like batteries, electric vehicles, and AI—by leveraging data as a strategic enabler.
To support this transformation, a structured Data Program has been launched. This program aims to:
- Establish data domains with designated owners and stewards.
- Shift from IT-led to business-led data product development.
- Provide coaching to stakeholders to support this transition.
- Build a robust data governance framework.
This role will reinforce the Data Program team and support the current program manager in driving these initiatives forward.
Role & responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for business-led data products in collaboration with business and IT teams.
- Guide the structured setup of data products using a defined checklist and evolve the methodology as needed.
- Act as a single point of contact (SPOC) for business and IT to:
- Identify and resolve blockers to effective data product delivery.
- Share lessons learned.
- Ensure consistent application of the Data Program approach.
- Collaborate with IT on data management, architecture, contracts, and mesh principles.
- Coach data product owners, domain owners, and stewards in their roles.
- Set up and facilitate communities of practice (guilds) for data roles and follow up on improvement initiatives.
- Further develop governance processes and documentation.
- Support the program manager in preparing stakeholder meetings.
- Refine deliverables such as data lineage standards and information concept definitions.
- Lead ad hoc cross-functional data quality initiatives as needed.
Profile
- Proven and extensive experience in data (quality) management, data governance, and data mesh principles.
- Strong track record in managing transformation projects and stakeholder engagement.
- Solid understanding of data-related technologies, platforms, architecture, and modeling.
- Familiarity with the energy sector is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills across technical and managerial audiences.
- A collaborative team player who bridges business and IT.
- Analytical, flexible, and highly organized.
- Pragmatic and creative, with a co-creation mindset.
- Master’s degree, preferably in engineering or IT.
- Trilingual: French, Dutch, and English (German is a plus).
- Able to work independently and in teams, with a solution-oriented approach.
