Context
After the major IT Transformation Program in 2022 of our client, where business applications hosted on Mainframe have been migrated to a Windows solution stack with SQL server as Main database engine, pursues the modernization, industrialization, extension of its SQL Server Data Backbone, towards a more unified Data backbone between Operational & Analytics Databases, to support the new architecture patterns and hosting platforms, continuing to evolve with the technology evolution of Microsoft SQL Server.
In this context, hybridation with On-Premises & Cloud platforms, SQL Server Evolutions and continuous Operating Optimization of the current platform with high Availability and Performance Level, the team manager for the SQL Server environment is looking for a DBA Microsoft SQL Server expert to contribute and support those challenges.
Objective of the job
In support of the I&O RUN Activities & Transformation Challenges:
- Support and facilitate the transformation change
- Organize and coordinate SQL Server deliverables
- Function as technical expert on SQL Server in close collaboration with the SQL Server team
(ETL, performance, troubleshooting, operational excellence, availability of systems, Security
management, Security Auditing….) - Support the Operating Model for SQL Server Operational Databases to the Cloud
- Architecture, develop and document solutions / procedures / scripts to operate the environment
- Share your experience with our SQL Server experts
- Provide coaching and technical guidance to the fellow colleagues when needed
- Act in respect of scope, timing and budget
- Act transparently to the team, the management and the project leading
- Adopt a positive, collaborative and constructive attitude in the team and in the relationship with
the stakeholders - You own a structured approach
- Prepare and support changes, where applicable outside office hours
- You will work in and with multidisciplinary teams where you will fulfill your part of your knowledge
and experience. - Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams
Profile
Technical requirements
- Excellent knowledge of SQL Server Database Administration
- Excellent knowledge of SQL Server System Administration
- Experienced in ETL services
- Excellent SQL Server knowledge to perform deep-dive performance Troubleshooting, Performance Tuning and Optimization
- Good knowledge of:
- SQL Server Security & Security Auditing
- T-SQL
- SQL Integration Services (SSIS)
- Powershell scripting
- SQL Reporting (SSRS)
- SQL Analysis (SSAS)
- Experience required on SQL Server version 2019 or upper.
- Be able to interpret the results of performance reports which are collected by tools like Query Store and/or Extended Events and/or SQL Sentry and provide input/insight to improve the performance or give impact analysis.
- Experience with SQL Server DMV’s its usage and interpretation
- Specialist in optimal design for best performance
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
- Experience working with Windows server and Active Directory
- Is a plus:
o Microsoft SQL Server, and/or MVP certifications
o Azure SQL Database Experiences (Administration, Security, Performance Tuning)
o Knowledge Azure Data Factory , Azure Synapse Link
