Context
The IT Energy Market and Real-Time Applications & Projects Department is responsible for the development and long-term maintenance of IT tools for our client’s operational processes. These include real-time processes (EMS/SCADA), tools guaranteeing security of supply on the high-voltage grid, tools facilitating the various energy markets and related exchanges of data with market players.
They are looking for a candidate to reinforce our teams as an IT Project & Application Manager to support the Ancillary Services (AS), Market and Adequacy (CRM) domains. Important projects are taking part in the coming years (iCAROS, MARI, PICASSO, Ademar/CRM) which are refactoring significantly IT systems and are leading to a need to reinforce the product team’s.
Role & responsibilities
- Managing IT projects and/or product teams, including launching and following up on projects, planning their implementation, monitoring their scope, budget and timing, managing issues and risks, drafting progress reports, producing documentation, and so on;
- Be part of an agile scrum team and participate in its ceremonies. Most of the time, the IT project manager is playing amongst other the scrum master role.
- Working with the business to set priorities and content of the sprints;
- Cooperating on and synchronising with other IT teams upstream or downstream of your domain with a view to dealing with planning constraints and realising synergies between systems;
- Challenging requirements provided by the business prior to their approval;
- Validating and verifying specifications drawn up by the business and – in the event of software developed within the company – translating these into a technical functional design based on Microsoft technologies (.NET);
- Managing a team of internal and/or external developers together with the .NET technical manager and closely monitoring projects entailing software that is purchased or developed externally;
- validating a strategy on tests and quality management and monitoring these during rollout;
- follow-up of production release;
- Supporting end users (second line) and driving the incident management process.
- Organising and prioritising the maintenance of the developed solutions.
Profile
- You hold a university degree specialising in IT and/or electricity.
- You have several years’ relevant experience as a business analyst or manager of IT projects based on Microsoft architecture (.NET, Visual Studio, SQL Server). You can communicate easily with developers on technical matters.
- Experience of agile development and/or lean management is mandatory.
- Knowledge of and experience in the electricity and/or energy sector would be an asset.
- You have 3-10 years of experience.
- You keep abreast of the latest IT developments. Demonstrable experience in digitalisation is an asset.
- You can communicate easily with operators on technical and design matters.
- You have an analytical mind and good organisational skills.
- You are customer-driven and a good communicator and you work well in a team.
- You are fluent in English. Knowledge in Dutch or in French is an asset.
