Context
Our client is facing one of its greatest challenges: enabling the decade of electrification. The energy transition and the rapid rise of electrification will accelerate in the coming months and years. As a market facilitator, our client is committed to developing Consumer-Centric Energy Solutions.
The increasing share of renewable energy sources and massive electrification are driving a paradigm shift in consumption behavior: demand will need to adapt to available production.
One of the key solutions focuses on sustainability, aiming to embed energy greenness into the energy system as a fundamental enabler on the path to a net-zero electricity system.
In this context, our client and its strategic partner have developed two complementary solutions:
- A location-based solution, providing a CO₂ intensity indicator that serves as a basis for carbon accounting reporting and enables innovative offerings linking flexibility and sustainability.
- A market-based solution, facilitating 24/7 matching of production and consumption through the issuance, registration, and cancellation of granular certificates.
Our client is looking for a Product Owner to define and establish a strong product-market fit for these solutions in Belgium while supporting the German market by developing use cases and driving adoption. The ultimate goal is to refine and implement the product based on the established market fit.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and communicate the product vision & strategy.
- Align the product vision with customer/end-user needs and company objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication about product vision, strategy, and performance.
- Support current and future customers and energy service providers in adopting new sustainability-driven services.
- Represent our client at events, conferences, and workshops related to the products and services.
- Ensure market compliance and consistency with local (Belgium & Germany) responsibilities and opportunities.
- Lead the implementation of the products and their functionalities.
- Challenge design principles, technical solutions, and define operational processes.
- Actively participate in product team ceremonies as part of an agile product development approach.
- Ensure that all products and services align with the company’s digital transformation and platformization strategy.
Profile
- At least five years of experience as Product Owner or Product Manager (for digital software products is a big plus)
- You have experience in the energy sector.
- A good knowledge of sustainability concepts within the energy market is essential to be successful in the role
- You communicate fluently in English, complemented by at least Dutch or French. German is considered as a plus.
- You can effectively create a product vision and are adept at managing complex stakeholder relationships
- You know how to launch a product to market
- You can collaborate with technical teams to deliver your product
- You can function in a dynamic environment and integrate updates quickly.
- You think solution-oriented and are proactive: you propose solutions or alternatives to make progress.
- You are customer-oriented and can work independently.
- You enjoy working in a team, have an entrepreneurial attitude and are result-oriented
