Context

The Global Engineering CAPEX team manages the portfolio of all CAPEX project for the Belgium and Global Automation. The team is responsible to ensure all CAPEX projects are delivered within budget & schedule according to plan with Quality standards & Safety as a priority. The team is accountable for the adherence to GSK engineering standards and practices in the projects.
The scope of the automation projects can be very divers and is often linked to general topics as Data Integrity, Cyber Security, Automation obsolescence, Digitalization, Virtualization,
There is a need to expand the automation with a CAPEX Automation PM to manage an upgrade of the OSIPI System of the buildings WN48/49.
This project will be executed for BeEM Automation as a client and the MPU’s as a major stakeholder.

The position CAPEX Project Manager Automation will report directly to the Head of CAPEX Automation.

Project sumary

  • OsiPi is a software suite that collects data from automation systems, stores it centrally and acts as a communication layer between process equipment and MES
  • 2 OsiPi in Wavre are obsolete and must be upgraded to a newer version and migrated to an automation (OT) network
  • The Belgium automation team is currently defining the best strategy to migrate the 2 OsiPi with the following key objectives
    • Merge both OsiPi in a central site wide OsiPi
    • Minimized business disruption
    • Minimized impacts on reports
    • Fast execution to reduce the current obsolescence risks and enable other projects like MES and RTPDM
  • The project will be executed under the direct lead of the Project Manager with the support of GSK technical experts and the integrator.

Responsibilities

  • You are accountable for the successful delivery of the WN48/49 OsiPi migration according to the PMF (Project Management Framework) procedures
  • You are responsible for all required contracting and purchasing which is required to achieve the project’s success.
  • You are responsible for the safety KPIs of your project and the integration of all EHS related requirements.
  • From the very start of the project, you are responsible for the project organization, and you will remain responsible from the detail design to Hand-over and Close-out phase to ensure an outcome which meets all the defined project objectives for cost, schedule, quality, safety, and environment and delivers the business benefits.
  • You are the owner of an Automation project with a budget of 5-10m€
  • You are accountable for project, cost controlling and forecasting
  • You work with all internal and external stakeholders to have the required project team at your disposal.
  • You are responsible for the project funding, design, and execution strategy
  • You are responsible for the preparation of the project for the stage gate reviews at the end of each project phase.
  • You work closely with Automation technical SME team for the scope development and technical strategy definition of the project.
  • You work with customers & PMO to prepare/review projects and ensure that they are encoded in the MSP Online.
  • Drive the Project Execution Plan process, documenting the project delivery strategy and the success criteria according to the PM Standard. A PEP needs to be developed.
  • Establishes a PEP and a PQP for the project in a proactive way with all stakeholders.
  • Prepares monthly progress reports according to the PMF Standard. Keeps the Steering Group and Sponsors informed of critical issues that could jeopardize projects success.
  • Develops a risk management strategy for the project and implements associated processes and tools to ensure effective identification, monitoring, and management of project risk.
  • Leads the qualification of the engineering services providers, contactors and vendors and decide and direct the appropriate contractual strategy. Uses proven selection processes to develop the appropriate contract strategy for the project, selects and manages contractors and settles any claims in accordance with company policy.
  • Implements strict project and financial controls, including procedures for change control / management, cost control / forecasting, physical progress / productivity measurement, and invoice review / payment.
  • Ensure that the overall commissioning, validation & handover strategy fully complies with the PM Standard to ensure a timely and complete handover to the Customer.
  • You are responsible of all administrative tasks link to project resources training matrix, invoicing, procurement task, quality (CAPA, deviation), Gemba, SD, work permit, supplier site access…
  • You ensure suppliers certification to work on GSK site (EHS, GMP…)
  • Develop a deep understanding of client’s needs to design/review sustainability strategy offerings tailored to the needs of the clients.
  • You are responsible to put in place all needed meetings and governance to support the project activity and to ensure the efficiency of those meetings with adequate agenda & drive.
  • You are accountable and responsible to have the complete oversight of the co-activity between your project and all adjacent projects to be able to construct a mitigation plan which avoids any negative impact on your project
  • You are responsible to visualize all benefits and impacts relating to all automation topics (OIT, eDI, OSI PI, …) for your project. In this regard, you will work together with the BeEM Automation Manager to assure the project alignment with the Belgium Automation strategy

Profile

  • Engineering degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Automation, Electrical or Chemical
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Min. 8 years of CAPEX Project management experience…as PM or Program Manager
  • Experience with industrial revamping projects within a shut down in a GMP and production environment
  • Robust experience with automation projects or with projects including OSI P
  • Awareness of data bases as OSI PI is a plus
  • Successful experience in people management
  • Stakeholder management & negotiation & influencing skills
  • Ensure deliverables are effectively produced, on time, on budget and with the expected quality
  • The role requires sound judgment and complex decision making where few precedents and considerable ambiguity may exist
  • Experience in a Change Management, contracting and all other aspect which are linked to the PMI knowledge area’s.
