The IT Energy Market and Real-Time Applications & Projects Department is responsible for the rollout development and long-term maintenance of IT tools for our client’s operational processes. These include real-time processes computing (EMS/SCADA), tools guaranteeing security of supply on the high-voltage grid, tools facilitating transactions on the various energy markets and related exchanges of data with market players.
Our client is looking for a candidate to reinforce our teams as Program Test Manager to support the Ancillary Services (AS) and Market domains. Important programs are taking part in 2023/24 (System operation excellence, EU Balancing) which are refactoring significantly company IT systems and are leading to a need to reinforce the product team’s and collaboration amongst them.
The Program test manager will work closely with the IT Program Coordinator as well as the different product owners.

Service description

Your main tasks will include:

  • Perform day-to-day coordination of program test activities
  • Define and follow-up global test strategy applied within the program and by the different product teams with the support of Centre Of Excellence (CoE) IT Testing
  • Collect test activities applied within each product teams supporting the program and make sure they meet and comply with internal procedures, policies & governance documents
  • Coordinate and support functional, system, integration and regression testing
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) /end to end (E2E) test plan before go-live
  • Ensure all system interfaces and functional specifications are exercised as part of entry criteria to End-To-End testing
  • Create Problem Report and Resolutions (PRRs) + regularly update project managers
  • Review and evaluate the completeness of test plans and other test related documentation and provide feedback to the IT Program Coordinator and product owners  
  • Identify and describe appropriate test techniques to provide efficient test solutions
  • Collaborate closely with the CoE IT Testing to align about the various test practises
  • Coach, guide and assist the product teams in test area to fulfil their missions

Program Test Manager profile

  • At least 5 years of experience as a project or test manager
  • Good knowledge of test methodologies
  • Extensive analytical, problem solving, coordination and follow-up skills
  • You can communicate easily with IT teams on technical and design matters.
  • You have an analytical mind and good organisational skills.
  • Sense of responsibility and ownership of all projects
  • Very Strong ALM knowledge
  • Knowledge of following technical aspects would be of great value:
    • Test automation (= RobotFramework is becoming a standard)
    • Web services, REST API and usage of XML and JSON files
    • Basic knowledge of .NET and SQL
  • Experience to work within an Agile/Scrum team.
  • Able to develop test strategy, test plan, test cases, test report, test scripts and test automation
  • IT mind-set: able to learn and adapt to new technical environments and/or new tools easily.
  • Knowledge of EN is a must (all texts are written in English and the standard language used by the team is English).
  • Knowledge of FR and/or NL is a valuable asset.
