Context
As part of a broader cloud transformation initiative, a major data migration project is underway to decommission the existing Teradata environment by the end of 2025. The current marketing datamart, known as “CKI” (Customer Knowledge Information), will be migrated to a new environment hosted in Microsoft Synapse.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) will be conducted in two phases:
- End of August 2025: Product tables and hierarchy
- From end of September 2025: All remaining tables
To support this transition, the organization is seeking a UAT Tester to lead and execute testing activities that ensure data integrity, system functionality, and business continuity.
Description
The UAT Tester will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing user acceptance tests for the migration of the CKI datamart. This includes designing test plans and scenarios, preparing test environments, executing test cases, and documenting results. The role requires strong technical skills, particularly in databases and SAS SQL, as well as a solid understanding of testing methodologies and defect management processes.
Role and Responsibilities
- Plan and conceptualize UAT test runs for the datamart migration.
- Design and document test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures.
- Prepare and configure test environments to support execution.
- Develop and run test programs to validate database impacts, software behavior, and usability.
- Identify, document, and report bugs or issues through a structured defect management process.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure test coverage and alignment with requirements.
- Provide clear and concise test reports and recommendations for improvements.
Profile
- Strong knowledge of IT systems and testing best practices.
- Proven ability to write test documentation (plans, scripts, reports).
- Solid technical skills, including experience with databases and SAS SQL.
- Familiarity with UAT processes and methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured manner.
